Description
The use of canopies in farrowing reduces drafts, maintaining a microcline for the piglets without the need of increasing the room temperature, keeping it to a more comfortable level for the sow to maximize its feed intake. This leads to a lower farrowing heating requirements (from a 20 to a 50% lower heating consumption in farrowing), higher sow feed consumption and lower piglet's mortality and performance (up to 0'5 more weaned piglets per delivery). So this is an investment to pay back in a matter of months (these data have been supplied by customer that have been using the Ni-2 during the last year). The Ni-2 Mobile can easily be installed in any existing or new farrowing pen, and can be open from the corridor for the inspection of the animals
